UPDATED: FSO Volunteer Info (Family & School Organization)
We are looking for volunteers and donations. Volunteering is a great opportunity to get involved
and give back to our amazing school and staff. Here are what we are looking for.
Parent Teacher Conference dinner/ lunch for Teachers
Note: We still have more spots on the Sign-up Genius to participate...This year we are changing it up. We will be ordering from Zuppas for dinner and providing snacks for breakfast/ lunch for Teachers. Volunteers will be needed to help deliver food to the teachers and to also provide donations for the meal. Donations will be individually wrapped or packages. Additionally, families can donate gift cards to Sams Club, Costco, or Zuppas and we can purchase items needed for the meals. The signup genius will have opportunities for both volunteers and donations. Monetary donations count for volunteer hours as well ( $10=1 hour of volunteering).
Food Donations can start coming to school October 19th. Here is the link to sign up.

NEW: Thank You – APEF Fall Boutique
Our 5th Annual Boutique fundraiser was a success. Thank you so much to the following parents who graciously donated pumpkins and/or their time:
Cindy Badger, Nicole Harman, Reyna Reyes, Sandra Covert, Maria Reyes, Steph Pettingill, Carolina Ramos, Juan Orduna, Ady Ferrari, Juan Martinez, Pete Stewart, Mandy Brown, Tailor Hamlin, Rosa Ramos, Tzitlali Soto, Monica Fowles, Jason Fowles, Karen Ellsworth, Jason Ellsworth, Andreina Marcano, Caitlin Crandall, Jill Smith, Evelin Gonzalez, Delmi Orduna, Erica Jooa, and Chantel Miner.
And a big thank you also goes to APA’s operations and IT teams (in particular Colby Sims who came in on Saturday), as well as to Kevin McVicar who put in a full day on Saturday helping from opening time to closing time. I sincerely apologize if I missed anyone. We can’t run successful events without our wonderful volunteers. You are appreciated more than you know!
Thank you, also, to Harmon’s in The District for donating pumpkins for the kids to decorate and to YESCO Outdoor Media for donating electronic billboard advertising for the event. Our community partners are amazing!
I am so impressed with our talented and creative student entrepreneurs who ran booths on Saturday. So many of our students spent hours (if not days, weeks, and months) preparing for the event, set sales goals, and had great success on Saturday. We have incredible students!
We had a great turnout for the kids costume parade. To see photos, go
to https://www.americanprepfoundation.org/boutique. Congratulations to the winners!
And finally, thank you to everyone who came out and supported the fundraiser and APA’s Builders Club!

2020-2021 School Land Trust Program
“The School LAND Trust program brings tens of millions of dollars annually to academic programs in public schools across Utah. The funds are generated from school trust lands... Each public school in Utah elects a school community council consisting of parents, teachers, and the principal. Charter Schools have Trust Lands Councils... Each council carefully reviews student assessments and progress to decide which academic areas they want to focus on. Plans are developed to improve student academic performance in the identified academic areas with the annual School LAND Trust funds. The plans are approved by the council, submitted on this website, and approved by the local school board or chartering entity.” www.schoollandtrust.org.

School Compliance Info
Professional Qualifications
Our parent surveys consistently express confidence and overwhelming satisfaction with our teachers at American Prep. Parents are welcome at any time to request information regarding the professional qualifications of the student's classroom teachers including: 1) whether the teacher has met State qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction or whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which State qualification or licensing criteria have been waived; 2) the baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree held by the teacher, and the field of discipline of the certification or degree; and 3) whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
District Parent Involvement Policy
At the conclusion of each school year, end-of-year assessment data is reported and organized into a Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA). The CNA includes demographic, attendance, and assessment data. Also included in the CNA are the results of the annual Parent Survey. This Survey evaluates, among other things, the satisfaction of parents with the quality of the academic program and their opportunities to participate in the schools. American Preparatory administrators annually invite select staff and parents from each school to participate in a District/School Planning Meeting. This Committee reviews the Comprehensive Needs Assessment and analyzes areas for potential improvement. District/School Plans are developed with goals, action steps, and budget relationships. District and School Parent Involvement Policies are evaluated for effectiveness. School, Parent, and Student Compacts are also examined by this Committee for recommended changes.
School Parent Involvement Policies
School Parent Involvement Policies vary slightly by campus and are located within the Parent-
Student Handbooks. These Handbooks are distributed annually to parents and will soon be
