November 25-27th NO SCHOOL – Thanksgiving Break

Dec. 21st-Jan. 1st NO SCHOOL – Winter Break

NEW: COVID CORNER
Each week I will be giving an update here in the COVID corner to keep everyone up to date on the situation with COVID at our school.

Here is our D1 case report as of 11/09:

-We have 0 active COVID-19 cases.
-We currently have 8 students and 1 staff member at home quarantined.

Remember - if your child is exposed to someone who tests positive, or if your student or someone in your family tests positive, please notify us at the school as soon as possible via email tommulcahy@apamail.org

NEW: Hands for Hope
How are your kind acts rippling?! We are partnering with “Hands for Hope” by “Flag for Hope” to join thousands of other Hope Warriors to flood America with kindness. Last week your student was sent home with a pamphlet and a “hope coin” with instructions on how to use it. The hope coin represents an act of kindness. As the coin moves from person to person a ripple effect is created that will have a long-lasting, positive impact on our home, school, community and country.

Please watch this video: https://youtu.be/fxs5W4SbYd4
Finally, beginning the week of November 9th, we will have a “Hope Banner” where your student can put his/her handprint and name to show completion of the challenge. Watch for parent volunteer opportunities next week to help with this fun part of the project!https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0D4CAAA62DAAFF2-hands

Let’s spread kindness one small act at a time! Are you ready for the challenge?

Draper 1Lunch Volunteer Opportunity -We have an urgent need for a few volunteers to help serve lunch at Salem. We are looking for volunteers who are available Monday thru Friday to help from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Our goal is to use these volunteers daily until they are sufficiently trained so that in case of an emergency they can cover lunch at Draper 1. Due to COVID there is a HIGH possibility that our lunch staff District wide will not be able to cover this.

Please email segli@apamail.org if you are interested.

2020 Veteran’s Day Celebration

American Prep was founded on the belief that America’s schools bear the responsibility to teach our children about the liberties that they enjoy and the sacrifices made to ensure those liberties. We know that our freedom is not free, but has been earned by the men and women who have served our country, and committed their lives to preserving our freedom. Our American Prep community is truly thankful for our service men and women and their sacrifice.

2020 mark our 12th Annual Veterans Day Celebration. Each year thousands of students, parents, and staff join together to honor our veterans. We thank everyone for making these events a success and we are humbled to honor those who serve and protect our country.

Please help us by inviting veterans and their families to join us on LIVE.KSL.COM on November 11th at 12pm and view our D1 tribute to them. Congratulations to Elizabeth Keske (5th grade) and Koby Burton (5th grade) who will be sharing their winning essays with us on this day as well. Please see the attached flyer and pick up extras in the main office is needed.

Rubik’s Cube Club

We’d like to welcome any 3 -6 grader who is interested in learning more about the Rubik’s Cube

Please bring a Rubik’s Cube with you if you plan to come and make sure to be picked up promptly at 3:45 when it’s over. Hope to see you there!
