April 2023 - Daniel Baker - Secondary Academic Director

Attention all American Prep Staff Members!

We have an exciting announcement to make – the launch of our very own APA Staff Book Club!  As classical educators, we understand the value of expanding our knowledge and understanding, and that's exactly what our book club aims to do.  We want to provide another opportunity for staff members to grow and develop while having a fun and engaging experience together.
To kick off our first book club session, we'll be delving into the depths of Dante's Inferno, the first part of Dante Alighieri's renowned literary work, the Divine Comedy.  Through this journey, we will explore Dante's commentary on the political and social conditions of his time, as well as the nature of sin, redemption, and divine justice.

We'll conduct our discussions through a chat forum and occasional live online discussions, providing an engaging and interactive experience for everyone involved.  To participate, you only need to create a minimal login on our website, apabookclub.org, using your work or personal email and purchase your copy of the book online or at a local retailer.

Please note we understand that some of you may have busy schedules, and we do not want to add any extra stress or pressure to your daily routine.  We highly encourage your participation but do not feel obligated.  We want this book club to be an exciting and engaging opportunity for everyone to develop as a classical educator.

So, get ready to join us on this thrilling adventure, and let's explore the many layers of Dante's Inferno together. If this book doesn't pique your interest, don't worry; we'll email you when we pick a new book.

Thank you, and we can't wait to see you at the book club!
